Xiao-Xiao J. Zhu currently serves as Digital Operating Partner at KKR where he focuses on creating technology-driven value with European private equity portfolio companies such as Axel Springer, GfK or Roompot Landal. He also co-leads KKR’s Digital Assets & Blockchain strategy. Prior to joining KKR, he was General Manager at BCG Digital Ventures in London and Beijing where he founded, launched and scaled new digital companies such as Heycar.co.uk or Tracr.com. He began his career in management consulting at the Boston Consulting Group in London.
Notably, in an earlier life, he performed as a professional concert pianist on some of the world’s most prestigious concert venues including the Berlin Philharmonie, and played for prominent figures such as George H.W. Bush, Helmut Kohl or Mikhail Gorbachev.
He holds a MSc in Managerial Economics & Strategy from the London School of Economics, a BA in Philosophy & Economics from the Humboldt University Berlin, and a Masters in Concert Piano from the Berlin University of Arts.
