Luis Nacarino is an Executive Director of Digital Assets at Banco Santander's Corporate and Investment Bank, in Madrid. He has been involved in digital assets and blockchain-related projects since 2017, where he began developing DLT-based initiatives in the banking industry. Luis joined Santander in 2022, where he has led and supported multiple digital assets initiatives from a program, product, and business perspective. These initiatives have been across the full space of digital assets.
Prior to joining Santander, Luis worked for 10 years at BBVA Corporate and Investment Banking, in Madrid and New York. There, Luis developed subject-matter expertise relating to products and processes in Global Markets, GTB, Lending and other business areas, and led multi-disciplinary teams and scrums involving technology, business, operations, legal and compliance.
Before entering the blockchain space, Luis worked for 10 years as a management consultant in Financial Services at KPMG and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
Luis has an undergraduate degree in Computer Science Engineering from the Madrid Polytechnic University and a Master’s degree in software systems and telecommunications from ENST Bretagne (France).
