Day 1 | 17th June

11:10 AM Market Infrastructure Panel: Building an integrated ecosystem: How is the industry addressing fragmentation in digital asset infrastructure and creating interoperable solutions to drive adoption and scalability in the institutional market?

Infrastructure gaps, fragmentation, and lack of interoperability between exchanges, custodians, clearing and networks remains the top challenge for the industry. New partnerships and initiatives are underway to try and solve for these challenges, and to enable the market to mature. Participants want to avoid replicating existing legacy infrastructure in the new digital ecosystem. This panel will look to address how to balance the need to create institutional-grade infrastructure whilst maintaining the benefits that blockchain technology can offer, as well as how to build an ecosystem that can connect digital and legacy systems seamlessly.

  • What are the latest collaborative efforts and initiatives driving interoperability across platforms to enable tokenized assets to move and be utilized across different networks?
  • How is the emergence of regulatory-supported networks, such as MAS Global Layer One, BIS Finternet, Canton Network and Propject Agora, impacting the market?
  • What is the role of global custodians in enabling the market to mature, and what progress is being made around custodian integration?
  • What solutions are exchanges and custodians developing to support interoperability of the ecosystem?

3:40 PM Post Trade Infrastructure Panel: Examining post trade capabilities: What is the current state of clearing, settlement and custody in digital assets vs traditional markets? HOSTED UNDER CHATHAM HOUSE RULE

As digital assets gain institutional traction, post-trade infrastructure is evolving to meet new demands. This panel will compare the current state of clearing, settlement, and custody in digital asset markets to traditional systems, exploring efforts to bridge the gap between the two. Key topics include the mechanisms supporting digital asset clearing and settlement, regulatory challenges in custody and cross-border processes, and innovations aimed at harmonizing digital and traditional post-trade workflows.

  • What are the current clearing and settlement mechanisms offered in the digital assets markets?
  • How are providers and institutions approaching harmonisation between traditional and blockchain-based post-trade infrastructure?
  • What are the legal and regulatory implications for custody, clearing and settlement across jurisdictions?
