James Dunthorne is the CEO and co-founder of Neuron, an edge network infrastructure powering the decentralized machine economy. Neuron enables computers to autonomously discover, access, and pay for services from other computers using digital wallets—eliminating the need for human or platform gatekeepers.
James brings over 15 years of experience across drone technology, geospatial data, and infrastructure systems. He previously led development of the world’s first drone capable of delivering high-accuracy rail surveys, and has worked at the intersection of robotics and decentralized systems ever since. His background in aeronautical engineering and early success in both banking and consulting reflect a career defined by technical rigor and entrepreneurial execution.
As a thought leader in decentralized infrastructure and machine-to-machine economies, James speaks regularly at global conferences on the future of AI agents, edge networks, and digital sovereignty. Outside of work, he enjoys playing football, building connections, and participating in high adrenaline activities including aviation.
As the digital landscape evolves, Web3 and decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePin) are emerging as key disruptors in traditional models of ownership, data management, network infrastructure, and investment. These innovations are paving the way for a new era of decentralized systems that not only challenge legacy industries but also open up exciting new investment opportunities. In this panel, we’ll explore the revolutionary potential of DePin projects like Helium, Hivemapper, and GEODMET. Our speakers—venture capital investors and project founders— will dive into what makes these projects unique, project evaluation criteria, and how institutional investors can engage with them.
Check out the incredible speaker line-up to see who will be joining James.
