Chuck Mounts is the Chief DeFi Officer in S&P Global Ratings, leading the crypto finance and digital asset team and advancing S&P Global’ s approach and capabilities in the crypto ecosystem. The team brings S&P Global’ s robust analytic and risk assessment capabilities forth to support both traditional institutional clients and the growing universe of crypto-native DeFi clients. With 30 years of experience in global financial markets, Chuck has led global businesses comprised of research teams, strategists, and product specialists that integrate market knowledge, product expertise and analytic capabilities across asset classes.

Chuck began his career as a bank regulator at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and spent the majority of the following two decades as a global credit analyst and a manager of research teams, including stints at Goldman Sachs and UBS, where he was the Global Head of Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodity Research for UBS investment bank.

He has served as the Chairman of the Bond Market Association’s Committee on Research Conflicts and has been recognized by global institutional investors for his understanding and insights in global financial markets. During his career Charles has presented at numerous conferences, has been cited in international publications and has appeared in the media.

Chuck holds B.A. from Claremont McKenna College and a master’s in public policy from Harvard University
