Senior Policy Expert European Banking Authority

Christian Moor, Principal Policy Expert joined the European Banking Authority in Nov 2010. Since Jan 2023 he represents the EBA in the Basel Crypto asset workstream and works on the implementation of MiCAR and crypto asset exposure rules in EU banking regulation.

Before this role, Christian held various positions at EBA, including as team leader and senior expert on own funds, IFRS 9 benchmarking and large exposure. He was also responsible for the Capital Markets Union group, handling regulation and policy on topics such as securitisation, covered bonds, infrastructure finance, and sustainable finance.

Before joining the EBA, Christian was a specialist banking supervisor at De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB). From 2000 to 2008, he worked in structured finance and covered bonds at HSBC Bank, Fitch Ratings, and Fortis Bank. At HSBC, he originated and structured securitisation and covered bonds transactions in Northern and Eastern Europe. At Fitch, he rated RMBS and Covered Bonds across Europe.

Christian has an MSc in economics from the University of Groningen, Netherlands.
